The use of risk scores for sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBI)

“Fio Vialard, a first-year Master’s student specializing in Epidemiology in the Pant Pai lab at McGill University, Canada, has been actively engaged in pioneering research focused on the development of risk score models for sexually transmitted and Blood-borne infections (STBBIs). Fio visited the D Y Patil University campus to share their invaluable insights and experiences with both faculty and students.

As the scholar-in-residence at DYPU School of Public Health, Fio interacted extensively with students during their stay. The talk organised on 29th May, revolved around the subject of ‘The Use of Risk Scores for Sexually Transmitted and Blood-borne Infections.’ During these sessions, Fio discussed the methodology employed in creating a risk score model, introduced the collaborative initiative between DY Patil University and McGill University, and delineated the rigorous steps involved in assessing the quality of existing risk scores documented in the scientific literature.”
