Ms NEEDA SHAIKH

Nida Shaikh holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from DY Patil School of Public Health. During her Masters, she conducted research on the awareness of breast cancer screening in the slums of Mumbai, allowing her to apply Public Health concepts into research.At present, she is a Project Coordinator leading the Aidesmart Project.
Her primary interest is in Epidemiology. She is intrigued by its power in shaping evidence-based interventions and policies and fostering positive shifts in public health. Her commitment to ongoing learning and research underscores her dedication to advancing this field. Additionally, she nurtures a strong interest in sexual reproductive health, recognizing its critical role in overall well-being.
As she continues her journey in public health, she aspires to engage in impactful research projects that tackle pressing health challenges faced by communities. Her ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between research and practical application, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of societal health and well-being.

She leads the school’s research project titled “Smart App-Based Rapid Multiplex Screening of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in At-Risk Populations at the Point-of-Care.”
