Dr Lakshmi Lingam

Dr Lakshmi Lingam is a well-known women’s studies researcher, gender expert, teacher, researcher, administrator and trainer. She is a Chair Professor at the School of Public Health, D Y Patil University, Navi Mumbai, since January 2024. Before this, Dr Lakshmi worked at the TISS, Mumbai, for nearly 35 years and retired in February 2023. She held several academic and administrative positions at TISS and is on the Governing Board of reputed Indian Universities and women’s organisations.

Dr Lakshmi Lingam was a Fulbright New Century Scholar (2004-5) and a Nehru-Fulbright fellow in 2015. She has many years of research experience and publications on subjects like gender, health, employment, public policies, sexuality, digital citizenship, self-help groups and women’s empowerment programmes.
