“The DYPU School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Consortium Against Rabies, proudly hosted its 11th National Conference. This was two-day national conference on December 8th and 9th, 2023, held at the Centre of Excellence, DYPU campus in Navi Mumbai. The conference served as a platform for empowering minds, fostering collaborations, and advancing the shared vision of a Rabies-free India.
The conference began with a pre-conference workshop on the 7th, led by the team from IIPH Gandhinagar. This workshop introduced Medical officers from various areas in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai to concepts of One Health. The 2-day conference featured insightful plenaries addressing crucial topics such as multisectoral collaboration, stakeholder education, and community empowerment. The panel discussions covered key themes, including zero by 30, the integration of rabies education into school curricula, and the effective harnessing of technology for surveillance.
On the second day, attendees participated in a poster presentation competition on the topic of Rabies research and a challenging quiz on One Health. These activities added an interactive dimension to the conference, enhancing the overall experience for participants. The 11th National Conference of the Consortium Against Rabies was a testament to the collaborative efforts and dedication towards advancing public health initiatives. We hope this leads to strong collaborative efforts towards Rabies control and prevention.
