Dr. Navya Mishra

Dr.Navya is a trained Life course Epidemiologist who has been working toward enabling the design and development of health programs in the Global South. Her foundational training in Biotechnology Engineering and Environmental Health was followed by Doctoral research in studying the early life determinants of adult health and disease. Insights from her extensive training in the impact of maternal health and nutrition on an individual’s chronic disease risk in adulthood directed her to work on social and biological determinants of adolescent nutrition, development and well-being. She keeps sustainable development front and center during program development, an exercise that has taught her to engage deeply with human-centered design principles. From conducting situational analyses to assessing preparedness for policy implementation at the Public Health Foundation of India, to advocating for economic policies supporting the development of affordable medical devices at the Center for Technology Innovation and Economic Research, and building Noora Health’s Partnerships and scaling strategy within the health systems of South Asia, to leading the program restructuring of Viamo’s IVRS support for health outcomes in Nigeria, Navya has spent nearly a decade researching, developing and implementing programs at the intersection of disease dynamics and public policy.
